Titans sign DE Joe Gaziano

The Titans welcomed a new defensive lineman on Thursday. They announced the signing of defensive end Joe Gaziano to their 90-man roster. Offensive lineman Chandler Brewer was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Gaziano spent last season on Jacksonville's practice squad and was elevated to play in three games for the Jaguars. He had three tackles in those appearances and he had one in two games for the Falcons in 2023. Gaziano spent his first three seasons with the Chargers and had 22 tackles and a sack in 21 games. Brewer made one appearance for the Titans last year. He also saw action for the Rams and Jaguars before getting to Tennessee.

Before the : Jones (6-0, 305 pounds) was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round (198th overall) of the 2017 NFL draft. In five years with the Niners, Jones helped dominate opponents, playing in 61 games, starting 46 of them. Jones was dominant along the defensive line, recording 126 total tackles (92 solo, 34 assisted, 23 tackles for loss), 7.0 sacks, three pass deflections and three forced fumbles. In 2021, Jones helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl, recording eight total tackles (four solo, four assisted, one tackle for loss) and 1.0 sacks in the playoff run. tenure: After playing five dominant years with the 49ers, Jones was signed by the Denver Broncos prior to the 2022 season on a three-year, $30 million contract. Jones' first year in Denver was a solid one, starting and playing in 15 games with 34 total tackles (22 solo, 12 assisted and three tackles for loss), 2.0 sacks and setting a career-high in pass deflections (6). In 2023, Jones followed it up with 16 games started and played in, racking up 46 total tackles (30 solo, 16 assisted, five tackles for loss), 2.0 sacks, forcing a career-high three forced fumbles and recovering a career-high two fumbles. In 2024, a contract year, Jones started and played in all 17 regular season games, making 42 total tackles (21 solo, 21 assisted, one tackle for loss), 1.0 sacks, three pass deflections and one fumble recovery. The Broncos rewarded Jones with a three-year contract that will keep in orange until 2028. Chances to make the 53-man roster: Lock. Jones will be a constant on the defensive line. as he tries to live up to the faith the Denver front office has put in him. Jones will also likely serve as a mentor to Broncos third round draft pick Sai'vion Jones as he begins his NFL journey. D.J. Jones is here to stay for the foreseeable future. Broncos Wire's 90-man offseason roster series continues today with a look at sixth-year defensive lineman Malcolm Roach, No. 97. Before the : Roach (6-3, 290 pounds) began his NFL career with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted college free agent prior to the 2020 season. In his rookie season, Roach played in nine games with 16 total tackles (seven solo, nine assisted, two tackles for loss). In 2021, Roach played in seven games, starting two of them. His tackle totals went down to 10 (four solo, six assisted), but he did have an interception. In 2022, Roach's production went up significantly when he played in 13 games (three starts). Roach made 26 total tackles (14 solo, 12 assisted, two tackles for loss) and one sack. In 2023, Roach's final season in New Orleans, he posted some of the best numbers of his career, playing in 12 games, making 28 total tackles (13 solo, 25 assisted, three tackles for loss) and three pass deflections. Broncos tenure: Roach was signed by the Denver Broncos as an unrestricted free agent prior to the 2024 season. What transpired was the most productive season of his career. Roach went on a tear, in 17 games and one playoff game, Roach made a combined 44 tackles (19 solo, 25 assisted, five tackles for loss) 2.5 sacks, two pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. GM George Paton has since called Roach one of the team's top free agent additions from 2024. Chances to make the 53-man roster: Lock as a rotational defensive lineman. Roach showed his potential with the best year of his career in 2024. Broncos Wire's 2025 offseason roster series concludes today with a look at seventh-year defensive lineman Zach Allen, No. 99. Before the : Allen (6-5, 285 pounds) was selected out of Boston College by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round (65th overall) of the 2019 NFL draft. Allen's rookie season was quiet, as he played four games, starting one amd making eight tackles (six solo, two assisted, one tackle for loss). In 2020, Allen played in 13 games, starting seven of them. Allen upped his tackle total to 35 (20 solo, 15 assisted, five tackles for loss), 2.0 sacks and three pass deflections. In 2021, Allen played in 15 games, earning 14 starts, while making 48 total tackles (30 solo, 18 assisted, five tackles for loss), four pass deflections, 4.0 sacks, recovering three fumbles for 27 yards and picking off his first pass. Allen started his first playoff game, making four total tackles (one solo, three assisted). In his final season in Arizona, Allen played and started 13 games, having his highest sack total of his career (5.5) and pass deflections (8), while making 47 total tackles (23 solo, 24 assisted). After his big year, it was surprising when Arizona did not re-sign him in 2023. tenure: In his years with Arizona, Allen first met a familiar face; current Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, who was in the same capacity with the Cardinals (2019-22). When Allen became a free agent, Joseph became the defensive coordinator under Sean Payton in Denver. Allen was signed to a three-year deal worth $45.75 million. In Allen's first season with Denver, he quickly found his niche in the Broncos' defense. For the first time in his career, Allen played and started all 17 games, making 60 total tackles (27 solo, 33 assisted, eight tackles for loss), 5.0 sacks, one pass deflection and one forced fumble. Allen's second year in Denver in 2024 was the best year of his career. Allen recorded career-highs in tackles (61 total, 32 solo, 29 assisted), tackles for loss (15) and sacks (8.5), while having one pass deflection and recording one safety. In Allen's second career playoff game, Allen recorded five tackles (four solo, one assisted, two tackles for loss) and 1.0 sacks. He was named a second-team All-Pro after that impressive season, making one one of the best in the league at his position. Chances to make the 53-man roster: Lock. Allen is one of the next Broncos in line hopeful for a contract extension beyond 2025. Allen is a vital part of the Denver defense, a disruptive force in the heart of the line on passing and rushing downs. The Broncos no doubt want to keep Allen. In 2024, Jackson dressed for 17 games, as well as Denver's single playoff game, making 17 total tackles (four solo, 13 assisted, one tackle for loss), one forced fumble and one sack. Chances to make the 53-man roster: Rotational player. Jackson was solid in relief of the Broncos' stellar defensive line and should be in pole position to retain his role as a rotational player in 2025.
